The Low Down: Redistricting in Texas, The Low Down, Dirty, Truth!!

Redistricting in Texas is designed to take away your voice in the U.S. House of Representatives. That's the Low Down Dirty Truth!

This is what's being done. You, our Black and Brown communities, form a majority in several districts in Texas that represent your voice in the United States House of Representatives. Texas Republican law makers, at the request of the President, are redrawing district lines to break up minority majority districts, in some instances, change the Representative you voted for.

An example of this will occur in the 29th District, represented by Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia, a Hispanic woman, elected by you. The redrawing of these lines will take a portion of her constituents out of her district and place them in a predominantly Republican district, where your voices and concerns will likely not be heard.

In the 9th District, represented by Congressman Al Green, a Black man, elected by you, a majority of his district in Harris County will be combined with Liberty County, which is a predominantly Republican making his chances for re-election very unlikely. In effect taking away your voice in the United States Congress.

This type of redrawing of Texas state district lines is occurring statewide to allow Republicans to maintain a majority and control in the U.S. House of Representatives. Why is this important? Because these Republicans are allowing President Trump to do whatever he wants to do, regardless of whether it violates the constitution or the law. Regardless of who it harms or negatively affects. They fear that you the people, are going to vote them out of office in the November 2026 mid-term elections. So they are attempting to "Stack the Deck" (Cheat) before the election takes place. If they can take away your voice by taking away your choice they can remain in control.

So what does that mean for you my people?

You think that your social security and veterans benefits are safe? Ask the millions of Americans that just loss their medical insurance through Medicaid!

You think your jobs are safe? Ask the millions of federal and government employees of agencies across the board that have experienced mass lay-offs for no good reason!

You think your student loan has been forgiven under former President Bidens' executive order? Think again! The Trump administration put a stop to that. Check your mail box.

SNAP benefits, CUT! School lunch programs and school district budgets, CUT! D.E.I. programs and initiatives in the government and universities, DISCONTINUED!

The list goes on and on and on! Sooner or later it's going to affect you. One thing is certainly true. "When the shit starts to hit the fan, it blows everywhere and on everybody!"

This edition of the Low Down is to make you aware that redistricting in Texas IS GOING TO HAPPEN! What can you do? Get registered to vote, get involved, and show up to vote! And pray that other states in the country are paying attention to what's happening in Texas and FIGHT LIKE HELL!
